Better late than never!

Hey guys!

I am so incredibly sorry for not posting and keeping you updated but my life has been a bit hectic the past weeks!

Ömer was supposed to come here the other week but then his games got cancelled and moved to another date so he was a little bit upset that he would not be able to come. So…as the best girlfriend in the world I made a surprise trip to Frankfurt. As far as I know he got really blown away and did not suspect anything! So 1-0 to Team Melis.

I stayed for about a week and then it was back to real life. I had applied for a few jobs but after having had some rethinking I have decided to move back to Sweden slow by slow and this is as sure as I have been for a very long time. I will apply for a masters degree in Accounting and Auditing and I am crossing my fingers that I will get accepted. If not I have both a plan B, C and D! But more on that later!

I have been quiet down though for a few days feeling a bit a drift and not feeling comfortable but I thought maybe I could settle that feeling with a few glasses of wine and some booty shaking and yes indeed it did help a lot! I met up with Cem and Burak and we had some drinks to then go to Taksim and meet up Lina. By the way Lina you looked really pretty last night and too bad you did not have the chance to stay longer! She has also decided to move back to Sweden due to various reasons and I wish the best of luck to her and that we will stay in touch. Who knows, she might move to Stockholm =) (hope hope hope).

Anyways that is all for now and I promise to get to my old blogging self as soon as I can.

Longing

 Nude shades are hot this spring/summer! Stripey t-shirt and denim shirt are already in my closet and waiting to be worn this summer. Make sure not to forget to colour your feet with a fabulous pair of colourful loafers. My favourite colour this year on my feet will be electric blue and fuchsia.

I always make sure to eat one pomegranate a week. This fruit is both yummy and fun to eat and filled with C vitamin, fibers and antioxidants that are good for our health. If you want to avoid clogged veins, cancer and inflammations then this fruit is something for you.

Quiet Ok..

You know you can not expect much from Turkish hairdressers considering how cheap they are and lack of education (not all of them but most). I have had a horror fest this weekend with some weird gingerish root colour and weird looking ends (when compared the normally gold blonde looked greenish). Anyways the hairdresser kindly offered to correct what had gone wrong, which was an offer I just could not refuse. So guys I look human again! Fairly unfortunately. I miss me Swedish hairdressers! =(((

I stayed home the whole weekend just sitting contemplating what to do about my awful hair and I just could not get to any good solutions so good thing that Murat had the answer for me.

After the hairdressers me and Naz met up with CC, Crazy Ceren and we just strolled around. We passed by the bazaar and bought a few things such as lycra socks for 1 lira each, a sports bra for 5 lira, foot peeler, foot/nail polisher (amazing stuff girls) and then ended up at Mado for a tea. After that we went home to have dinner, which was prepared by moi off course. Bulgur salad with loads of veggies since I am on my healthy week to see if I feel better after this change in my diet.

I later got a call from Ömer telling me he will not be coming to Istanbul this weekend nor the weekend after, which sucks so much! So I can not say I am that happy at this moment but what a girl to do. Well what is a ball at the castle?

Guys… I am changing my hair

I think but I am not quiet sure. Since I am fairly broke I can not maintain this wannabe Swedish look of mine, which is kind of super blonde hair that is totally not anywhere near my natural colour.

Anyhow, I have always had this colour that is dark blonde with a dash of honey blonde in it and I am thinking of going that way since I know how to maintain it since I do not have my mother here to assist me in my highlight making. Poor me!

So this is kind of what I want to go for. Not darker or lighter. Just like this, like my inspiration Miss Kate Moss.

I am just advising everyone of you all to watch this movie. It is both fun and cute, entertaining with some drama and just a truthful story about the nature of dating and finding THAT particular guy or girl for that matter that is the one you want.

 

The cheating guy totally ends up alone. Yeah wonder why!

 

Thank you Naz for a wonderful movie night. Totally loved the Karnıyarık (an aubergine dish with minced meat and potatoes) and banana split. We are totally having a sugar rush at this moment so I bet we will not be able to sleep but it is cool since we are waiting for Melis #2 who is stuck at the office. Poor sweetie. Hadi come home now!

Uludağ 21-24/2

It has been decided that we are off to Uludağ with our friends for 4 days. It is going to be really interesting since I can not remember being at a ski resort here in Turkey.

It will be me, Ömer, Ergin, Burcum, Melih and Deniz at a all inclusive (until 23.00) hotel so that means a hell a lot of after ski partying! Can not wait!

I also had the pleasure to meet up Malin for a stroll in the shopping mall Palladium on Friday afternoon. She bought a gorgeous white maxi dress, which is a good investment for the summer that is kind of sneaking slowly slowly slowly up on us.

I kind of do not have that much money in my pockets at this moment so I just followed her around and looked for some inspiration for my design projects.

We sat down at Starbucks and continued chatting about everything between heaven and earth. Later on we got accompanied by Ergin and Burcum but Malin had to leave and we went to Midpoint where we had some appetizers and red wine. We paid the bill and went around in the shops. We kindly got told off that it was forbidden to take photos, which kind of made us laugh. Everything is forbidden here!

Thursday 14.00 Sultanahmet

This Thursday I had an interview at 14.00 and I was a good girl and got ready in time and left the house in a timely matter to then realize I left the house an hour too early! I kind of realized it on the ferry over to Eminönu and I can not even imagine the look on my face when it happened. But it was all for the good since I had time to walk from Eminönu and get the chance to get lost to then get directed by a nice man who owns a small souvenir shop. He obviously could tell that I felt lost over there in the touristic mess! But it was kind of my fault I forgot to look at the names of the stations while walking along the tram way. Anyways here are some pictures of my stroll and I must say that I was incredibly lucky with the weather, it was only a tad bit cold.

By the way the interview went well but obviously as many positions offered here in Turkey you are supposed to work 6 days a week and be kind involved with everything that is going on and I am not sure if that is how I have been taught to work. Basically I would not be given specific work tasks but more like help around where it is needed. I do not know if that is something for me but we will see. Fingers crossed that I see results from my efforts made throughout the weeks.

This Wednesday I met up with Lina and since I have been really bad at blogging this week I did not have the chance to tell you how it was and upload the really nice picture I managed to capture of her. Here you go gorg!

We managed to get caught in the Taksim cold and I was decisive to show Lina all the ‘cool’ places I know. I obviously got a tad bit confused since there are so many streets and places and I am mostly drunk when we go there. I kind of had a laugh all by myself there.

We ended up at House cafe and the first thing we hear (or Lina who then told me) is 2 guys and a girl talking about Swedish girls and how we are? Hmm I really wonder what the conversation was based on?

Anyways it was a really nice evening with wine and dining and then we realized how late it had become so we both rushed home. But it was lush and I hope we can do it again, whatcha say Lina?

Plans tomorrow

I have decisively put my alarm on 09.00 for tomorrow morning since me and Cem have decided to go to the gym at 10.00. I will then get back home to change my clothes look around on the net for jobs and then get ready to go to Taksim to meet Lina at 19.30. It is going to be loads of fun!

Sienna Miller??? Ok so you know I went to Ankara this weekend to watch Ömer play and before the game I met up with Burcu, which is Aytek’s girlfriend and then also a addition to the litter =) Mine. Anyways we were talking and then Burcu said her friends thought I reminded them of Sienna Miller.
