Frankfurt Weekend 20.05.09-24.05.09

It is Monday and I am back at work after a lovely weekend trip to Frankfurt, Germany where my wonderful boyfriend Ömer of almost 2 years live. Due to Ascension Day in Sweden we had Thursday off and since Friday kind of gets squeezed in between most employers give that day off as well..voila LONG WEEKEND!

I must say that I was not disappointed at the weather in Frankfurt, it was as hot as Turkey almost and all we did was to sit and enjoy the sun. I saw a few great places and the one place that fascinated me most was Long Island Summer Lounge.

Why do we not have this in Sweden? It felt like I was in a totally different country and it was not due to the 3 pools that they have but because of the interior design. Basically it was over cool and gets 5 stars from me. Me and Ömer started off by being there alone smoking black and drinking white wine. The evening ended with an addition of 6 people consisting of Nik, Alex, Anastasia, Ayse, Selin and Cem. We were a great crowd and we had loads of wine and we all ended up feeling terribly hungry so last stop had to be McDonald's, of course! While taking in fatty nourishment we were unaware of the fact that our night bus would rudely pass in front of us leaving us to wait for about an hour. Not a problem, since Anastasia's flat is just in front of the bus station, lucky us, unlucky for her because she had about 6 people crashing her flat in the middle of the night. Poor girl!

Other than that I saw a lot of fun things, ate a lot of unnecessary food and drank a lot of beer. I am just waiting for the beer belly now. Bring it on!

Me and Ömer just could not stop talking about Bodrum during my whole visit in Frankfurt, we both miss it so much and it is going to be awesome to jump into the pool on Friday morning. But I think that the most awesome thing will be the trip to Ömers house in Yalikavak. Nothing can beat that! So it will be a lot of Sun, Sea and Sand! Please, make these 3 days pass by quickly!

Afternoon coffee a la Starbucks style

I am at the office now having my afternoon coffee, which I would like to add, never have. Not only am I having a coffee, I also got offered a muffin by my colleague. How could I resist?

Yummy muffin and my "it looks like a take away" coffee

Why can’t people take kindness?

Morning or should I say Good Noon.

I am baffled about something and it is about people not being able to take kindness and appreciate it. I obviously missed my bus this morning so I had to wait for the next one, which is not a problem since they come every 6 minutes or so. While I am waiting the crowd and the line for the bus starts growing and in addition to that a family with a hyper kid. The bus arrives, in time, which I am so thankful for and I have to say that I love bus number 1. Go 1, goo. So I am the second one to get on and I saw that the husband went on the bus with the baby carriage and their totally flipped out son who just wants to "do" something different every 2 seconds. So I let the mum go on before me and I also tell her "Its Ok, you can get on before me" since I felt that she had to go to the husband and help him with the kid and the carriage. She didn't even say Thanks or anything she just went on. I was like.. hmm ok.. last time I checked people used to show gratitude in the form of a thank you. But hey, humanity, its not really making progress is it? It is going straight down the hill and still, there are so many "humanitarians" out there. All these people and organisations, live better, treat each other with respect, Eco living the list could go on long but still people can not move on and get out of their little tiny boxes that they have put themselves in. I say Yeaj for humanity and the fact that we need to interact more with our fellow beings and appreciate kindness and also give it back, not necessarily to that exact person who acts in kindness to you but to someone else. You know, karma is a b***h, she said and put a full stop.

Giving is a virtue
