That is a statement you can only see on a car, minibus, bus or any vehicle of transport and this really cracked me, Ömer and Tulin up. Thank you camera man Ömer!

I wish!

Who would not want that gorgeous bod and that gorgeous, shiny and think hair?

Good news!

Earlier today I got a call from a person who wants to meet me to discuss employment opportunities available for me at their office. I am obviously quiet excited and hopefully this will turn out well!

I will tell you all about it after Thursday, which is the day of the meeting.

Wish me good luck guys!

Ps. I have been over productive today and applied frenetically for jobs here in Istanbul and in Ankara. Fingers crossed!

It’s complicated

Two of my favourite actors are starring in the same movie called ‘It’s complicated’. Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin. It could not get better and I just need to watch this movie.

Here you go the trailer….

Prayers for Bobby

This title cracked me up a little. For you who are deeply involved in my life are also deeply aware of my nickname Bobby, which is kindly picked by my boyfriend. I do not know how it exactly came about but I think it was ME calling HIM Bobby for about a week a year ago and then I got bored and he kind of stuck to it and it has tagged along ever since. But ok I must admit I do like it so thank you Ömer =)

Here is the trailer to Prayer for Bobby (starring Sigourney Weaver) which is a movie based on the true story of Mary Griffith, a 1970’s suburban mother who struggles between her strong religious beliefs and the suicide of her homosexual son.

Why is Spotify NOT available in my country?

Yes that is a question I ask myself everyday although I know the reason I thought I would tell you it is due to licensing restrictions here in Turkey. Yeah no kidding? Like everything in this country this is also restricted. When will Turkey stop being so complicated and work forward and not backward?

For your who do not know what Spotify is I can shortly explain this top notch phenomenon. I got introduced to it by a friend at my old work she sent me an invitation since that is required in order to become a member of this really cool community =). Anyways all you need is to download the Spotify program and then you have access to millions of song both online and offline with a feature that enables you to listen to whatever song you want and to create playlists.

Spotify is instant, fun and simple

I just can not wait until it is available here!

Back in Ankara again!

For you who do not know I am back in Ankara again to see Ömer play. I kind of missed it though. I was going to surprise my boyfriend my jumping on the bus and knocking on the door but when I spoke to him on the phone I quickly understood it would be impossible to know if he would be home or not at the time of my arrival. Never ever a surprise for him anymore =) haha!

I have been productive and sent out my CV as well but this time through Ömer’s mother who said she might be able to help me in my job searching.

Other than that me and Naz got invited to Mehmet’s for dinner the other day, which was a shocker (sorry memo but it was) but a very nice treat. We enjoyed our evening by drinking white wine and eating tortellini, cream, mozzarella and mushroom sauce with king prawns on the side. Quiet yummy and I regret not taking a photo of the masterpiece! As digestive I had a glass of Bailey’s, which is one of my favourite drinks, look how well Mehmet poured it into the glass!

Just gotta love Taksim!

Yesterday while walking around in Taksim me and Naz decided to go to our little bazaar gold mine where they at times have the most gorgeous things at the lowest price ever!

You who know me well are aware of my desperation to find a pair of awesome dark denim skinnies but without any luck. I have looked everywhere and I ended up buying a pair of black jeggings from Vero Moda, which I just want to throw away since they are a magnet for fiber and all kinds of dirt. They almost look grey when I am done with them after a day. Anyways I looked around and browsed and I kind of was not looking specifically for jeans but all of a sudden I saw a pair of incredibly skinny jeans hanging outside a shop and I went inside and hallelujah moment. For 25 lira each I bought 2 pairs of skinnies, one in black and one in dark denim. These jeans are obviously export garments and they are normally sold in our high street fashion shops but hey I do not mind. Amazing!

I managed to take a photo of the black pair last night so here you go!

Istanbul

At this moment I am sitting at Starbucks in Taksim with Naz me darling and we are amazed by the wonderful weather today! I am wearing my fur coat and I am dying from the heat that I am generating =).

I feel proud over myself as well. I managed to take the minibus to the metrobus and then get off at Mecidiyeköy and then take the underground to Taksim. It took me about 40 minutes to get here and I only paid 4 lira so I saved 2 lira!

Now I am going to enjoy a nice cup of tea!

Speak to you later guys!

Ömer

and me totally forgot our 2 year anniversary which is the 7th of January. We kind of celebrated it yesterday instead but I want to send out a message to my lovely boyfriend.

You give me strength when I am weak and you put up with a lot in order to be with me. You are the most amazing man I have ever known in my life and I admire you for the person you are. I wish you all the luck, success and happiness in life and I hope that I will be there all along the way to see it and live it with you. You are the most important person in my life and I love you over everything.

Departure and a big headache

Words can not even explain how tired and hangover I am today. There is no other people than me, Ergin and Ömer who can drink on a Sunday and get wrecked! So I have returned to Istanbul and I got really lucky since Ömer’s team, ODTÜ, decided to let me ride with their bus on Saturday all the way to Istanbul. They had a game both Saturday and Sunday, which I watched and I got the task to film the matches so I could not really focus on how Ömer played but I managed to catch when he scored and dedicated it to me. Geek I am yes but I love when he scores, he make me proud. They won their first game with quiet a difference but unfortunately lost towards ENKA yesterday with 1 point difference but that is a good score since ENKA are quiet strong.

By the way we met Ergin’s new girlfriend Burcum , really cute and I am glad he found her. Now he does not have to me parsley all the time =).

After the game we went to eat dinner in Ortaköy and after that we dropped the car off and went to Taksim for a spontaneous night out. We went to Kino Garden, which is a really cheap place in Asmalı. We had loads of shots and we all got really drunk. Me and Burcum ended up stealing the beer glasses and it is really funny how you think you are so smooth and thinking nobody notices. Yeah right! Anyways we went back to Emirgen to sleep since Ömer had to get up at 9 to go to the airport. We dropped him off and we said our good byes. It is always so sad to see him leave but this time there is really no need since he is coming back on Thursday for matches, that lucky thing! So I am back home now in Göztepe and it feels so strange after a month in Ankara but it is all good since I can do my sports now and look intensively for a job.

I NEED to find a job!

Tomorrow will be a good day!

Tomorrow I have decided to go to Bursa fabric shop in Kızılay here in Ankara. I need to get me some fabric for the things I am going to sew. I need to find me a cheap shop like that in Istanbul as well!

Wish me luck!

Some time in the stables!

The other day Ömer took me to the stables and oh boy was I happy! Apparently his family used to own half a horse (I know it comes off funny) and they used to be quiet frequent horseback riders. Impressing!

I started off riding horses when I was about 10 and later on my mother signed me up for equestrian school where I learnt the basics and totally fell in love with the creatures! Horses are gorgeous and strong and there is no doubt that riding on horses make you feel free as a bird.

So I got my gear on and off I went. The horse that they gave me for half an hour was called Bella, and Bekir hoca kindly informed me that it means beautiful =).

I need to get my complaining gloves on now though because I think that I had quiet a chocking and stressful experience in the manege. First of all the manege was filled with people (that had nowhere to sit almost) and shockingly overcrowded with horses and their riders. So it was kind of like an ice skating rink where you rent your skates and off you go in the rink. I might not be the most experienced horseback rider but I have taken a fair deal of years of lessons AND I have managed horses without supervision but these people can not have been disciplined or taught in any kind of way because they were galloping right towards me passing me with an inch of space leaving my horse stressed and me all confused. Sometimes it even felt like people were doing it just for the fun of it. My horse bolted on me a few times and I realized what I was dealing with. I do not want to sound judgemental but I really do not think that the equestrian education is that good here in Turkey and I do not think that riders have respect for other riders nor the horses. Please if anyone knows a good stable in Istanbul (other than Istanbul Atlı Spor) to refer me to, do not hesitate to contact me. Oh by the way if anyone wants to come riding with me in Istanbul feel free to join!

First of all Happy New 2010!

I want to excuse myself for being a itzy bitzy bad at the posting lately but I swear that I have a perfectly good excuse. Laziness! I have been waking up real late and when I wake up we immediately eat breakfast and leave the house for a daily planned activity. Basically Ankara is quiet fun!

So to the next big thing. Happy New Year to all of you out there I wish you all the best and I hope that all your wishes and dreams come true. May 2010 be a good year!

We had a really successful New Years party with food and drinks. We even went to a house party. I think that the biggest hit during the night was the chocolate fountain that my boyfriends mother got for Christmas. Totally yummy to dip strawberries and banana! I recommend it!
